Return & Refund Policy

At Hutchings Direct we want you to be delighted every time you shop with us. Occasionally though, we know you may want to return items and by law you have the right to cancel the purchase of most items within 14 days without giving any reason. You also have statutory rights where goods are not as described, not fit for purpose, not of satisfactory quality or defective. If you wish to return your item(s) please complete the form below to obtain your RMA (Return Material Authorisation).


You have 14 calendar days to return any item(s) from the date you received it. To be eligible for a return, your item(s) must meet the following criteria:

  • Your item(s) must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
  • Your item(s) must be in the original packaging.
  • Your item(s) needs to have the original invoice included as proof of purchase.

The following item(s) cannot be returned (unless defective):

  • Items ordered specifically for you (Special Order Items), or goods that have been modified or configured to your requirements (e.g. machines with customisable options).


Once we have received your returned item(s), we will perform an inspection of the item(s) returned and notify you that we have received your returned item(s). 

Once we have done this, if your return is approved, we will take the following steps:

  • We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after we have inspected the returned item(s).
  • Initiate a refund to your credit card, debit card or PayPal account (but only to the original method of payment or card details provided in your original purchase).
  • You will receive the refund credited back to your original payment method within a certain amount of days, depending on your payment providers policies.

We will not provide refunds for the following:

  • Where we are providing a service that has been fully performed and you accepted when you placed your order that we, as the supplier could start to deliver it, and that you could not cancel it once this process had started e.g. providing a repair service.

Please Note: You may also be liable if the value of the goods returned diminishes due to the handling or general condition of the item(s) or where the item(s) have been found to have been used, tried or evaluated or where they are received by us in an incomplete way i.e. missing components or accessories that would have originally been supplied within the item(s). This will be deducted from your refund.

Delivery & Carriage

You will be responsible for paying for your own carriage costs for returning your item(s). You can either arrange your own carriage back to us or we can arrange this on your behalf through our nominated carriage providers. Carriage costs for the original delivery of the item(s) are non­refundable as we fulfilled our contractual obligation to deliver the item(s) to you.

If you receive a refund and you have chosen Hutchings Direct to arrange a collection for the item(s), the cost of the return carriage will be deducted from your refund.

Hutchings Direct will refund the cost of sending item(s) back to us if it’s defective, damaged or incorrect and is within the return period set out above.
